"Modern Electric Cookery," issued by Monarch Electric, 1926. The fold-out brochure has a black cover with the title in white letters at the top. At the center and flanked by white borders are red letters which read, "CONVENIENT / ECONOMICAL / EFFICIENT." Below this is a drawing of a gray-haired woman holding a tray of biscuits. Across the bottom is a red bar with the name of the company in black. The back looks identical to the front except that the name of the company is not at the bottom. The first page introduces the company's new electric stove. The center section features two illustrations at the far left and right of some of the stove models available with a description of the product's conveniences at the center. Fully unfolded is an article on the pleasures of electric cookery and the many features of the product. At the far left and right are illustrations which show the individual features such as asbestos cell insulation, clamp-type door handles, automatic timer, and built-in master switch. With only one crease at the top right corner, the artifact is in good condition.Lexicon
