Description

Color: Blue; Green; Red; White "Modern Priscilla," December 1928 issue, published by The Priscilla Company, Boston. The front cover has the title, month and year of the issue, and its price at the top. At the center is a color image of a woman in a snowy scene, wearing a blue cloche hat, fur trimmed coat, and holding two white Christmas packages with red ribbon. At the bottom right are the words "Christmas / Greetings" in red letters. Articles include Christmas-related fiction, as well as on topics like needlework for furnishings; needlework Christmas gifts for children and men; rugs for the house; color in interior decoration; Christmas dinner and other recipes; floor cleaning items; cooking tools and equipment; women's fashions; and jewelry making. There are many black and white and a few color illustrations and many advertisements throughout. A table of contents is at the rear of the 52-page periodical. At the top left corner of the front is a stamped address label. In good condition, the item has acid burns on the top and right edge of the front; light cover creases; dogeared corners; light soiling on the cover; a fold at the top right corner of the front; minor foxing on the lower right corner of the front; a slightly musty smell; small cover stains and on some pages; and small spine tears.
