"Monrovia Messenger," (Vol. III, No. 15,) 28 February 1889, published and edited by Frank Kasson. The weekly newspaper discusses mainly local news, with some items of regional and national interest. Of note is material on the Mount Wilson Trail (Toll Road) and a lengthy list of delinquent tax payers in the depression following the massive real estate boom of 1887-88. There are also many local advertisements. With folds, nearly detached pages, stains and soiling, the condition is fair.
