A mid-winter sale catalog from Montgomery Ward & Co., 1922. The title of the 136-page artifact is at the top of the front, with "Sale" in large black letters. Products to appeal to women, such as silk house, fabrics, and a dress and turban are listed therein, with a large color image of a woman prominent on the right. The company name and location are at the bottom. On the reverse are listings for shoes, women's at the top and middle and men's at the bottom. The inside front cover has listings for fabrics sold by the yard. After a statement about the great bargains found in the catalog, listings continue with more fabrics, referred to here as wash goods. Typical of the department store variety, listings range through draperies; white goods; bedding and domestics; women's clothing; sewing notions; men's clothing; children's clothing; household furnishings and sundries; hardware items; automotive goods; farm implements; furniture; household appliances; housewares; and musical instruments, among many others. Some of the pages are in color and there are many black and white drawings as illustrations. Ordering information is on page 133 with an index on the following page. There are two order forms, one on page 87 for a few specific items and a separate tipped in form between pages 52-53, which is item 1.2.
