"Mormon Island, Los Angeles Harbor," by A. C. Gates, 17 February 1930. The aerial view shows the island in the harbor attached by a causeway with the mainland, including the community of Wilmington at the upper end of the photo. On the island are berths for oil tanker ships with buildings, storage tanks, roads and much empty space. Several tankers are lying off berths around the island, as well. On the reverse is the photographer's stamp with a negative number and date, as well as his address, ink inscriptions including the title, and other information. With some browning on the reverse and light soiling, the condition is good.
