Description

Color: Brown; Green; Red "Motion Picture," December 1928, Volume 36, Number 5. The front cover of the 122-page periodical has the title of the magazine in red at the top with the month and price just below a black horizontal line. At the bottom are titles of three feature articles about actors Mae Murray, Alice White, and Charlie Chaplin. An image of actor Anita Page, wearing a football uniform covers most of the cover. Articles, aside from those above-mentioned, are bout such performers as Charles Farrell, Buddy Rogers, George Bancroft, Josephine Dunn, and Maurice Chevalier. There are, however, dozens of black and white photographic images of other film stars and small articles, including film reviews. Many advertisements are found, principally at the front and back sections. In poor condition, the artifact has page brittleness; cover creases; surface soiling on the cover; page discoloration; some losses on the back; stains on the cover; tarnishing from the staples (now removed); tears on a few pages and the back cover (the latter repaired with adhesive tape); and general wear.
