Description
MOURNERS AT WALTER P. TEMPLE MEMORIAL MAUSOLEUM FOR JOHN H. TEMPLE FUNERAL
Color: Black; White
A black and white reproduction photograph of mourners at the funeral of John H. Temple at the Walter P. Temple Memorial Mausoleum, April 1926. The structure, which has a pitched roof and columns across the front, is at the right. It is topped by a cross with the building's name across the front. Many people stand across the foreground with a group, at the front of the structure, gathered around one person who is not clearly visible. A couple walks arm-in-arm at the far right, while the woman points to the bushes at the front of the building with her right hand. Everyone wears coats and dark clothing. Across the left of the background are bushes, a fence, and part of Puente in the distance. Visible are some of the town's buildings, trees, and Puente or P-Hill. Written in blue pencil at the top left corner of the back is, "RALPH & CAROL TEMPLE COLLECTION / WALTER P. TEMPLE MEMORIAL MAUSOLEUM." The image is believed to have been taken during the funeral of John Harrison Temple. Negatives to the images in the accession are .2.1-.10. The artifact is in good condition with no signs of wear or damage.
