Description

MOURNERS ENTERING MAUSOLEUM, JOHN H. TEMPLE FUNERAL Color: Black; White A black and white photograph of mourners entering the mausoleum at the funeral of John H. Temple, April 1926. The building is at the right of center with the front facade and part of the southern elevation visible. There are about 20 persons in the photograph, many of whom are entering the mausoleum, while a few are exiting. Others stand outside, including, at left, Agnes Temple. Some bushes and shrubs around the mausoleum and, at left, are notable, as is the pipe fence on the northern side, behind which, in the background, is part of the town of Puente. On the reverse the word "VELOX" is stamped into the paper, while, at the lower right corner, is the stamped number "48." Later inscriptions include, at top left in pencil, "Brown"; at top right, in pencil, "95% / 2A / Terri"; and, at lower left, in black ink, "+20 - 1/5 / 22-135." The upper and lower right corners are notably creased and there is some surface staining, so the object is in fair condition. Number-Units: 1
