A real photo postcard, "Mr. Wm Wrigley's Residence at Catalina Isl, Cal.," Peter V. Reyes, postmarked 5 July 1924. The view shows the edifice built between 1919 and 1921 by the chewnig gum magnate and Island owner on Mt. Ada, east of Avalon as well as some island landscape. A brief message from Independence Day is from an Island visitor. Reyes was a descendant of a Spanish-era Californio family long resident in the Santa Monica area. With slight warping, creases, rubbing, a few stains and soiling, the condition is fair.
