Nameplate from the Pacific Electric Railway Company
Entry/Object ID
2007.21.1.8
Description
A nameplate from what is probably a Pacific Electric Railway Company car, ca. 1900-1930. The plate is flat brass with two perforations on the right and left sides for attaching to the car and the word "TRAINMAN" etched into the plate. On the reverse is a maker's mark for a company in New York. Rust and corrosion make reading the mark difficult, but it could be "C.M. Brooks & Co., N.Y." With the rust and corrosion, the overall condition is fair.
