Description

Color: Black; Purple; White; Yellow "Nature Magazine," September 1928 issue (Vol. 12, No. 3), published by the American Nature Association. On the front cover is the title in large yellow letters, below which is a large image of beavers building a dam, showing a pile of branches at the center, behind which are some trees, a hill, and a purple and yellow sky. At the bottom are the month and year, price per issue (thirty-five cents) and the volume and number. On the inside front cover is an announcement by the publisher of a new endowment and other news. Articles include such topics as bears; gems; birds; rhinoceroses; spiders; deer; a photo contest; ideas for the home and garden; tree surgery; and regular features on such areas as travel, photography and nature education. Most of these articles are illustrated with black and white photographs, though there are some color drawings, as well. At the front and back are many advertisements. Much of page 189 is torn away and there are sections of the last few pages (201-204) cut out with scissors. Creases, dents, soiling, edge losses, a missing corner piece, stains, and tears are on the cover, as well, and there may be pest damage on the right edge of the front cover, so the artifact is in fair condition.
