Description

NEGATIVE STRIP OF PHOTOS OF LOS ANGELES AND WORKMAN FAMILY HOMES Color: Black; White A strip negative with six images of Los Angeles and Workman family homes in Boyle Heights, Los Angeles, and Clifton, England. Exposures 2-3 are of the Workman family home in Clifton, England, taken ca. 1910 and shows the home from the road passing in front of it. Exposures 4-6 are of the Boyle Heights home of the William H. and Maria Boyle Workman family, ca. 1887, shortly after the structure's construction. The Queen Anne-style residence is seen from a lawn at the front of the building. Exposure 7 is a view of Los Angeles, ca. 1860s, evidently taken from Fort Moore or Poundcake Hill, just west of the town. Of these images, exposures 2 and 4 were printed and are images 1.18 and 1.20 from this accession. As a newly made artifact, the strip is in mint condition. Number-Units: 1
