Description

NEGATIVE STRIP OF PHOTOS OF MARIA BOYLE WORKMAN Color: Black; White A strip negative with six images of Maria Boyle Workman. Exposures 2-3 are of a portrait of Maria Boyle Workman from her wedding day in October 1867 and shows her in a head-and-shoulder view. Exposures 4-6 are of Mrs. Workman in another studio portrait, from perhaps several years later and show more of her upper torso and her dress, shawl and hair ornaments. Exposure 7 is of Mrs. Workman, ca. 1887, and is similar in view to the wedding photo, with the subject in a head-and-shoulder view and facing in a similar direction. Exposure 4 was circled from printing but was not done by the vendor. See <accession number> for the printed copy, done at a later date. As a newly-made artifact, the strip is in mint condition.
