Description

NEGATIVE STRIP OF PHOTOS OF NANCY WORKMAN AND THE ANDREW BOYLE HOME Color: Black; White A strip negative with six images of Nancy Hook Workman and the Andrew A. Boyle house. Exposures 26-27 are of Mrs. Workman from a studio daguerreotype, ca. 1855 and she wears a black dress with a white collar and a hair net or other headdress. Part of the ornamented oval lining for the leather case is visible around the image. Exposures 28-30 are of a ca. 1860 view of the Boyle house, evidently newly completed and showing a number of persons around the porch and north side of the building. Exposure 31 is of the remodeled home, done in an Italianette style, ca. 1910, by Boyle's grandson, William H. Workman, Jr. The view is from a wide lawn from the east. Exposures 28 was printed and is item 1.21 of this accession. As a newly-made artifact, the strip is in mint condition. Number-Units: 1
