Description
NEGATIVE STRIP--TEMPLE FAMILY TINTYPE AND ONE GRAYSCALE IMAGE
Color: Black; White
One of three negative strips, with five exposures of a tintype with Temple family members from 1906 and one of a grayscale strip. All five of the family exposures show the entire tintype including the roughly-cut edges, shot in light and dark tones. Shown in these images are Laura Temple's mother at the front left; Susie Castino Temple in the middle; and Laura Temple at the right. Standing are Charles P. Temple at left, with Charles P., Jr. in his arms and Walter P. Temple at right, with Thomas W. II in his arms. The women are dressed largely in black dresses and Mrs. Gonzales and Laura Temple in black bonnets and Susie Temple in a white bonnet. Charles Temple wears a light-colored turtleneck sweater, while Walter Temple wears a dark suit. The boys clothes are difficult to determine, but Charles, Jr. wears a dark-colored cap. The gray scale image shows a strip with a range of colors from black to gray to white in square boxes; measurement points as numbers 1-19 and letters A, M and B and the name "KODAK Gray Scale." As a new artifact, there is no wear or damage and the condition is mint.
