POSTCARDS, REAL PHOTO OF "NEW MISSION PLAY HOUSE / SAN GABRIEL MISSION, CAL." ca. 1927. The view, taken from across Mission Drive, shows a group of six persons in the plaza in front of the theater, while one man and a couple of women stand under two of the entrance's arches. The entirety of the front facade, as well as the neon sign atop the structure are in view. The caption is at the lower right. On the reverse is a written description from the unused card reading, in part, "This theater was built for the play by L.A. people." This includes Walter P. Temple, whose business manager, Milton Kauffman, was on the corporation board. Aside from residue on the front, the condition is good.Lexicon
