Description
"No. 206 - Sierra Madre Villa, Los Angeles Co., Cal," by A. C. Varela, ca. 1878. The view shows a two-story main building with a screened porch at the left and a steeply-gabled building at the right, landscaping in the foreground, and the San Gabriel Mountains in the background. There also appears to be a road with a small, white wooden bridge at the center. The caption is at the lower right and Varela's name and location is at the right margin. With soiling, a missing corner at the lower right, corner rubbing and edge wear and stains on the reverse, the condition is fair.
