Description

Color: Black; Blue; Red; Yellow A noisemaker, manufactured by Kirchhof, ca. 1928. The item is largely flat and has a handle with checkered patterns on the front. A squared end has the same checkered design as a border. Within this is an image of a dancing woman wearing a red dress, while other dancers are behind her in silhouette. A blue floor and border and a red, gold, and yellow background are also featured. A thin metal strip attached at the handle end has a red wooden ball at the end and this rests against the image. On the reverse is another metal strip and ball, so that when the item is shaken both balls rattle against the noisemaker. This piece, however, arrived broken, so the ball end is inserted into the straps that hold the rest of the metal strap in place. The reverse side is unpainted, except for a portion of the front that is wrapped around and has the checkered design on it. Although the item is bent at the squared end and there are scratches and dents, as well as the broken metal and ball piece, the overall condition is good.
