Description

Color: Green; Red; Yellow A box top and bottom for Noma Christmas lights, 1927. The top has an image framed with a vine-like border in red, black, purple and green. Within is a vine-like frame for a red field, within which is the brand name within a banner, under which is the product name and a yellow-colored box with "FOR INDOOR AND OUTDOOR USE" in it. A half-dozen electric lights on a string are intermingled in the vines, which also surround an image of Santa Claus below the title. To the sides, at the bottom of the front, is a scene of Santa entering under a trellis to approach a house, at left, and children on a sled above a frozen lake with skaters on it. Electric lights decorate trees and hang on wires in these scenes. On the longer side panels are the product name, while one short side panel has the brand name and the other has both along with the stamped model number "3000." The bottom is largely unornamented, except that the underside of the flap covering the light set has the identical image as on the front of the top. On the inner panel under the flap is information and patent numbers for the product. On the top side of the flap is information about the product including four reasons why it is superior; an explanation of its use; and a product guarantee. Item 2.1 is the string of lights. With some tears, discoloration, creases, stains on the top and overall surface soiling, the box is in fair condition.
