Color: Black; White
A flier entitled, "Non-Partisan Appointments for Merit Only," issued by the Democratic National Commitee, 1928. The title is at the top of the front. Also printed on the front are listings showing the great diversity of Democratic Presidential candidate, New York Governor Alfred E. Smith's appointments. Divided into four sections, the first shows Smith's cabinet appointments by the number of Democrats, Republicans, Independents, Protestants, Catholics, and Jews. The next three sections are appointments for principal departments, state officials, and judicial and county related offices; all of these also show the number of people appointed as in section one. The back is a campaign contribution form at the top of which are the words "The Other Side of This Card / Convinces Me That / Governor Smith / Deserves My Support." At the center are the name and address of the Democratic National Committee. At the bottom is an area to write one's contribution amount and address. In good condition, the artifact has only a dent at the top, possibly caused by a paper clip, browning of the paper, and a tarnish stain.Lexicon
