Description

NORTH END OF ORIGINAL WEST WALL, EL CAMPO SANTO Color: Brown; White A color polaroid photograph of the north side of the original west wall of El Campo Santo, ca. March 1979. Taken from inside the cemetery near the entrance gate area, the view shows most of the north end with the main entrance pillar at the far left and three sections divided by smaller pillars leading to the right to the end of the side. The first section of the wall appears to have had many brick replacements in the center area, though there don't appear to be many more of these areas along the wall. Additionally, the metal balls at the top of each pillar have not been restored. Little or no vegetation is discerned in the interior part of the cemetery, though trees are visible over the wall in the areas around the site. With little indication of wear or damage, the artifact is in good condition. Number-Units: 1
