Description

Color: Black; White A photograph of the north end of the La Casa Nueva courtyard, ca. 1932. Taken from the flagstone walkway between the fountain and the west wing of the home, the image shows most of the second floor balcony and the lower portico and stairs leading to the second floor, as well as some bushes and shrubs, including one of the round adobe planters. At the lower right corner is a portion of the fountain and at the upper right is a small section of the recently built dormitory that enclosed the east wing patio. Three of the original wood carvings of animal heads are in beams extending from just below the balcony. A potted palm tree is in the archway directly outside the door leading into the Main Hall. The photograph has a crinkled edge and there is a rectagular piece with two holes for mounting the image into a paper album, which is item 49.2. In good condition overall, the item has only minor reverse discoloration and paper bowing. Number-Units: 1
