Color: Blue; Yellow; Red; Black
A color postcard of a shopping center in North Whittier Heights/Avocado Heights, ca. 1965. The image shows an Alpha Beta supermarket, a pharmacy, a liquor store, and a bakery in the center at right. At the center and left is a part of the asphalt parking lot. In the background are the San Gabriel Mountains. On the reverse is a caption calling the area North Whittier Heights in La Puente, although that name generally applied to today's Hacienda Heights and Avocado Heights is commonly used today to describe the area, which is also often denoted as part of La Puente, but shares a zip code with Whittier. Below the caption is an ink inscription reading "My shopping / center!" At the bottom left is an identification number (H3638" and the name and address of the publisher, Columbia Wholesale Supply. A box for a stamp and the printed lines "POST CARD / ADDRESS" are at the upper right. With heavy abrasions on the back and lightly on the corners, the overall condition is good.
