Description

NORTHEAST CORNER OF LA CASA NUEVA UNDER CONSTRUCTION Color: Black; White A black and white photograph of the northeast corner of La Casa Nueva under construction, 8 April 1926 [photo processing date.] The photographer, probably Thomas W. Temple II, stood closer to the dining room part of the east elevation. Just left of center is the entrance to the living room, with the northern french door visible. On either side are arched window openings, but it appears that the windows, these being the original windows of Thomas and Agnes, were not yet installed. Additionally, the framing for the door and windows appears to be unpainted. Above this is the partially finished Master Bedroom balcony, including the carved corbels. One small section of the french door into the Master Bedroom is visible at the top edge, left of center. At the bottom and right are the grounds with piles of dirt and construction debris. The enclosure wall is also at right. On the reverse the word "VELOX" is imprinted on the paper; the number "29" is stamped at the upper left; and a stamp reading "WEBBS / APR 8 1926 / SAN JOSE" is at the lower center. Other than light surface soiling at the reverse, the image is in good condition. Number-Units: 1
