Description

NORTHEAST WING OF WORKMAN HOUSE, BEGINNING OF RESTORATION Color: Green; White A color polaroid photograph of the northeast wing of the Workman House, ca. 1978. The view is of the north face with the first-floor triptych window at the lower center and the second-floor arched window above it. There is significant damage to the plaster throughout, including the wall; window hoods and sills; and quoins. This might be partially the effect of the removal of the ivy which had covered much of the walls of the home. At right is part of the 1920s era porch work, as well a section of the gray shingle roof. To the left is a ladder leaning up against the east wall, while a piece of wood and what may be part of a door or window are at the lower left. A pencil inscription at the bottom of the artifact reads "North East Wing - Workman." It seems the image was taken after the removal of the ivy and before plaster stripping and reapplication. With little indication of wear or damage, the object is in good condition. Number-Units: 1
