Description
NORTHERN END OF EL CAMPO SANTO'S ORIGINAL WEST WALL
Color: Brown; Green; White
A color photograph of the northern end of El Campo Santo's original west wall, ca. 1977. The wall extends across the photo from left to right, beginning with the tall pillar at the gate, though the gate is missing and only the hinges remain, embedded into the brick. There is a concrete base at the bottom of the pillar. Smaller pillars are at intervals along the wall, one of which is topped by a metal ball, while the other two visible pillars are missing this element. A dentil runs along the wall four levels below the top. At the base of the wall in the interior of the cemetery dirt is piled up for restoration. A black hose runs from outside the grounds to the interior. At far right behind a bush can be seen a small portion of the pipe fencing on the northern side. The upper right corner has overhanging branches from a tree. On the reverse, in red ink, is the name "Bill K[alnoski]", who may have been the photographer. Aside from discoloration from photo album adhesive at the reverse top, the artifact is in good condition.
