Description

A note from Perry Worden with no indication as to addressee (probably Thomas W. Temple II), undated (ca. 1940). Typed on the reverse of a memo pad sheet on the letterhead of The Union Lithograph Co., Los Angeles, with handwritten comments in black ink on the front side. The front has a border along the edges, with the company name, address, and telephone numbers at the top; and a list of supplies provided by the company at the bottom. The note appears to be a continuance of another letter (note "While I am writing I may remark on the following" begins the text) and is a complaint of treatment to Worden regarding his compilation of materials for a book on the Temple and Workman families; of keeping alive the memory of Walter Temple (who died in late 1938, hence the estimated date); and of not being asked to speak at Temple City events or a Historical Society of Southern California tour of the Homestead. The written comments mention a loss of income from mistreatment at the hands of an unidentified person and the struggle to keep the Temples name "in lasting file in State Liby." In fair condition, the note was folded vertically in half; has many creases; dog-eared corners; and fairly dark discoloration.
