Description

Notes about the Scott and Glenny family, probably by Edith Barclay, ca. 1922. The item accompanied a pair of scissors or shears, but gave background on their owner, Elizabeth Scott, mother of Jonathan R. Scott, a prominent Los Angeles attorney and justice of the peace in the 1850s and early 1860s. Barclay was a New York descendant of Scott and other items in this accession deal with potential claims to Scott property in Los Angeles. A piece of fabric was attached to this note, but does not appear to have a relation to it. With very light soiling and a crease or two, the condition is good.
