"Notes on the Pleistocene Fossils obtained from Rancho La Brea Asphalt Pits," Miscellaneous Publications No. 2, Los Angeles Museum of History, Science and Art, November 1926. The third edition of the publication outlines the excavation, field work and research conducted from 1906 before the museum's opening and then for two years from 1913-15, when property owner G. Allan Hancock allowed the museum exclusive excavation and ownership rights to materials denoted as the Hancock Collection. In late 1916, Hancock deeded 32 acres to the county, including the famed pits. There are many photos of the museum, Hancock, site excavations, reconstructed fossils in the museum, and drawings or paintings showing what the animals would have looked like initially. With large stains, much soiling, abrasions and creases to wrappers and some stained pages, while most have creases, the condition is fair.
