Description

Color: Black; White A photograph of oil derricks in a southern California field, 1920s. The image shows the most of a derrick at the left, including the wooden structure and the wood sheds at the base for the machinery for the pumping apparatus. Many other derricks are in the background left and there is one at the right. There is also a large building at the background right that looks like an industrial building though not necessarily related to oil. Power poles and electrical lines traverse the image at the center. At the bottom right of the reverse is a stamped number "55" and right of center is the stamped name "DORM-A-TONE / PRINT." There are six other photographs of oil fields in this accession. With soiling, creases, residue of mounting corners, stains, and fingerprints marks, the general condition is good. Number-Units: 1
