Description

Color: Black; White A photograph of oil derricks in a southern California field, 1920s. The image shows the lower portion of a derrick in the foreground, including the wooden structure and the machinery for the pumping apparatus. Many other derricks are in the background left. There is also a long one-story building, likely associated with the work being done in the field, at the left of center. A power pole and electrical lines are at the left and along the top. At the upper right of the reverse is a penciled number "16." There are six other photographs of oil fields in this accession. With the upper right corner missing, soiling, creases, residue of mounting corners, stains on the right edge, and fingerprints marks, the general condition is good. Number-Units: 1
