A photograph of an oil field including derricks, refining equipment and storage tanks at a southern California field, 1920s. The image shows a derrick at the right, tanks at the foregorund right, and what appears to be the refining apparatus at the left of center and far left. It appears that the photogrpaher is standing on or near the roof of a building that is part of the refining process. In the background are a few more derricks, trees, and some hills. At the top left of the reverse is a penciled number "8." There are six other photographs of oil fields in this accession. With soiling, creases, stains, residue of mounting corners, and fingerprints marks, the general condition is good.
