Oil reservoir and derrick reflected in an oil pool
Entry/Object ID

Description
A photo album page with two photographs, one of an oil reservoir under construction and the other of an oil derrick reflected in a pool of oil, ca. 1924. The view of the reservoir shows construction equipment and materials in the midst of a vast concrete space. The other image shows the derrick and associated wood sheds very clealy reflected in the oil pool. The location of both is not known, though it is likely the derrick is at Santa Fe Springs and that the reservoir is a Standard Oil unit at El Segundo. Both are accompanied by captions in white pen. With soiling and, on the oil image, mounting corner residue, the condition is fair.
