Color: Black; White
A black and white lantern slide of a oil well geyser or gusher at Santa Fe Springs, California, manufactured by the Keystone View Company, 1920s. The view shows the gusher in a well left of center amidst what appears to be an orange grove. Several other wells are scattered in the field. The photographer stood atop a storage tank and there are a few others of these at the left. More of the grove and a building at the right are also of note. At the left is the Keystone name and the location of its Meadville studio, while the caption is on white paper at the right, including the identification numbers "13" and "29259" and the caption "Geyser of Oil being / forced out by Natural Gas, Santa / Fe Springs, Calif." At the upper left is a taped on number "5079-13." With some rubbing to the corners of the black paper border; adhesive on the number referred to on the upper left; surface soiling; discoloration of the tape where the last number is; and some fingerprint stains, the overall condition is good.
