Description

A snapshot photograph of oil wells at Los Angeles, ca. 1900s. The photographer stood in the middle of a dirt road, which has railroad tracks off to a side, and captured more than a dozen derricks, some wooden structures (including at least one house), and some power lines. On the reverse is a pencil inscription: "Oil well / Los Angles [sic] / Cal." With some soiling and edge rubbing, the overall condition is good.
