Description

"Oil Wells, Los Angeles Cal," by Sunset Photo-Engraving Company, San Francisco, ca. 1900. The image shows a forest of wooden derricks, wood storage tanks, and other material. There are a couple of houses partially in view and another wood structure. The location, however, is not clear, though it may be the city field developed by Charles Canfield and Edward Doheny after 1892. With a vertical crack the entire length at the left of the image and some soiling on the mount, the condition is fair.
