A color postcard of the old grapevine at San Gabriel, ca. 1920s. At the right is the trunk for the vine in a stone-bordered planter. The white trellis for the vine is across the top. Many purple grapes dangle from between the green leaves. A white sign hangs from the trellis but its words are unreadable. Across the background is a paved courtyard were there are several potted plants, clay jars, benches, and chairs. A white wall is also across the background with two screen doors at the center. Across the bottom is, "71552 THE OLD GRAPE-VINE, SAN GABRIEL, CALIFORNIA PLANTED 1775." On the back is the name of the publisher which was Phostint, the words "POST CARD," and a square box for stamp placement that also indicates postage rates. All of the latter printing in in brown ink. With only light abrasions and some discoloration, the artifact is in good condition.Lexicon
