Description
The oldest grapevine in California, San Gabriel Mission, March 1922. The image was taken by Mrs. Anson Joseph Erb. The thick vine is rooted in the ground and reaching up over head, entangling on a wooden trellis that is spread over a concrete area. Underneath the trellis are several sets of tables and chairs. The vine has some leaves growing. At its base it is surrounded by rocks and potted plants. There is a pencil inscription on the reverse. The item is in good condition with minor light damage on the reverse, bottom edge and overall discoloration..
