A snapshot of the Olinda Oil Field, Brea, California, 29 March 1916. The view is taken from Carbon Canyon Road and looks north into the hills, most likely at the Union Oil field, where today's Olinda Ranch subdivision is located. The scene includes several dozen oil derricks, small structures and storage tanks and a dirt road winds up the hill. An ink-inscribed date is at the lower right. With some ink stains at the upper right and album paper residue on the reverse, the condition is good overall.
