Description
ORANGE-SHAPED LOS ANGELES PROMOTIONAL BROCHURE, 1929
Color: Black; Green; Orange; White
A promotional pamphlet shaped like an orange promoting Los Angeles, 1929. The item has the image of an orange with the city name and year on the front cover and probably the name on the back, although this was damaged when removed from a scrapbook or similar item. Text at the beginning stresses the importance of Los Angeles as a city hosting conventions, so the publisher was probably a visitors and convention bureau of some type. Other text, accompanied by photographs, covers such areas as city history; the city in the late 1920s; scenery; climate; commerce; industry; agriculture; and other facts. With spine rubbing; losses from the back cover, as described above; and stains from removed staple tarnish, the overall condition is good.
