Description

ORIGINAL AGNES TEMPLE WINDOW, LA CASA NUEVA MAIN HALL Color: Black; White A black and white photograph of the original Agnes Temple window in La Casa Nueva's Main Hall, ca. 1927. The image shows the window, but none of the surrounding framing or wall with the exception of some light cast on the east side of the plastered wall. Agnes Temple is shown wearing a multi-colored lace shawl; white mantilla; and holds a fan in her left hand near her chest, while the other hand is on her hip. She stands on a stone floor with a low balustraded balcony behind her. Over her is a wood-supported arbor with a flowering plant growing on it that stems from an oval vase. The background is a castle amidst lush landscaping. The window is shown in reverse from the reproduction that is in its place today, after the original was stolen in the 1970s. On the center of the reverse is a stamp in blue ink for Anderson Photo Service of El Monte and the number "50" is at the bottom right stamped in blue ink. Aside from minor surface soiling and three pieces of tape on the rear, the object is in good condition. Number-Units: 1
