Description

ORIGINAL AGNES TEMPLE WINDOW, LA CASA NUEVA MAIN HALL Color: Color A color transparency of the original Agnes Temple window in La Casa Nueva's Main Hall, ca. 1972. The window is shown within its alcove, including the window seat and the blue and yellow tile. Agnes Temple is shown wearing a multi-colored lace shawl; white mantilla; and holds a fan in her left hand near her chest, while the other hand is on her hip. She stands on a stone floor with a low balustraded balcony behind her. Over her is a wood-supported arbor with a flowering plant growing in it that stems from an oval vase. The background is a castle amidst lush landscaping. Judging from the curvature of the leading and the appearance of the vase, among other indications, it is determined that this is the original window, which was stolen in the 1970s. The image was reproduced for the recreation of the window in the museum restoration project. There are scratches in the surface and the emulsion has worn, but the artifact is generally in good condition.
