Description
ORIGINAL AND REPLICATED DOORS FOR COLD STORAGE PANTRY, LA CASA NUEVA
Color: Brown
A color polaroid photograph of an original and a replicated door for the Cold Storage Pantry of La Casa Nueva, 30 January 1979. The original door is at left, painted dark brown, while the reproduction is at right in its bare wood state. The two have identical patterns and square windows at the center of the upper third of the door. Behind the replicated door is another reproduction, but a curved header, indicating it was probably one of the doors leading from the Main Hall either to the Library or to the Dining Room. Behind the original door, in the background, may be one of the screen doors leading out of the Dining Room to the Mission Walkway, but this is not certain. An inscription at the bottom of the object in blue ink reads "Pantry doors Left One Restored / Right One New Replica / 1/30/79." In good condition, the object shows little indication of wear or damage.
