Description

Color: Brown; White A color polaroid photograph of the original cloth ceiling from the mausoleum, November 1979. The one-piece "sanitas" cloth fabric lies on the sidewalk in front of the structure and has a border around the edges, though the design is not visible, because of shadows. There is one very large and noticeable crease or wrinkle at the center of the piece and smaller such wrinkles and creases are seen throughout the fabric. Other than the sidewalk, two small and dark patches of grass and parts of a man's black shoes, there are no other notable features to the image. On the reverse left an ink inscription reads "Temple Mausoleum" while another inscription at the top reads 'orig. 'sanitas' ceiling / fabric removed and layed [sic] / out prior to resotration / photo by 11 - 79 / archt." Beneath this is a stamp with restoration architect Raymond Girvigian's name, address, and telephone number, covered with a piece of tape. In good condition, the artifact does not seem to have much wear or damage. Number-Units: 1
