Description

ORIGINAL DOORS WITHOUT WINDOWS, LA CASA NUEVA MASTER BEDROOM, NORTH SIDE Color: Brown A copy of a color polaroid photograph of the original doors at the north side of the La Casa Nueva Master Bedroom, ca. 1979. The doors, stripped of paint, are without the windows, which were stolen and replaced by plywood panels. The focus of the photo, however, are the original carved panels at the bottom of the doors, featuring incised L-shaped designs at four corners and small square plaques. The plaque in the left door is a floral design, while the one on the right is a face in profile. At bottom is part of the wood floor, dirty and in need of refinishing. On the reverse is an inscription in black ink reading "Temple Mansion / Master Bedroom / Exist. wood carving / at bottom, after stripping / photo by archt. 2/8/79." Below this, covered by a piece of tape, is the stamp of restoration architect Raymond Girvigian with his name, address, and telephone number. With little indication of wear or damage, the artifact is in good condition. Number-Units: 1
