Description

Color: Blue; Gray A color polaroid photograph of a detail of the original ceiling cloth, ca. August 1978. Because of the close-up view, it is not clear if the cloth is photographed in its original location on the ceiling or removed and placed on a bench in the corners of the structure--see the piece of marble at the bottom. The cloth is badly wrinkled and creased and there is a border running along the inside of the edge. The design of the border appears to be floral with round medallions and to be of brown, gray or blue, and yellow in color. On the reverse is an ink inscription reading "Temple Mausoleum / detail ceiling / 'sanitas' border / design prior to / restoration (as found) / photo Jeff Tyler / R-6 #12 / ca. [a plus or minus symbol] 8/1978. Below this is a stamp for restoration architect Raymond Girvigian with his name, address, and phone number, covered with a piece of tape. With little indication of wear or damage, the object is in good condition. Number-Units: 1
