Description

ORIGINAL THOMAS TEMPLE WINDOW, LA CASA NUEVA MAIN HALL Color: Green; Red; White; Yellow A color reproduction photograph of the original Thomas Temple window in La Casa Nueva's Main Hall, ca. 1972. The close-up shows the image without any framing from the door visible. Temple is shown wearing a multi-colored sarape over his right shoulder and has a brown-colored mariachi suit with light-colored trim and pattern work throughout. He also wears a white shirt and some sort of necktie. In his right hand, held at his chest, he holds a cigarette, while his left arm leans on a window sill and his left hand is in his coat pocket. The window has wrought iron bars and some stone blocking at the bottom, but little indication otherwise of what the structure was. Among some indications, such as the leading and the different color window sections to the right of Thomas's body under the window, it is determined that this is the original window, which was stolen in the 1970s. The image was reproduced for the recreation of the window in the museum restoration project. Aside from surface soiling on the rear, the object is in good condition. Number-Units: 1
