ORIGINAL THOMAS TEMPLE WINDOW, LA CASA NUEVA MAIN HALL
Color: Color
A color photograph of the original Thomas Temple window from La Casa Nueva's Main Hall, dated [probably the reproduction date], 20 November 1979. The close-up view shows the window, west of the main entrance door, with Temple in a brown charro suit and sombrero and a multi-colored sarape over his right shoulder. He leans, with his left arm resting against the window sill, against the wall of the former San Gabriel Post Office, built by his father in 1923. The window is arched and has some iron tracery, while a niche is below the window and parts of a plain wall are also in the image. Three darker pieces of glass below the window to the right are among the indicators that this was the original window. On the reverse upper left, in black ink, is "LEFT 11/20/79," while beneath this in ink that has turned yellow is "Girvigian." Adjacent to this in pencil is "Envelope #92401," and under this in red pencil is "Reverse print." Next to the latter, on the right, is the stamp, covered by tape, of restoration architect Raymond Girvigian with his name, address, and telephone number. It is assumed this print was used for the replication of the window by the John Wallis Studios, because it has a great deal of surface soiling on the reverse and the edges are worn, so the artifact is in fair condition.
