Description

Color: White, red, blue A packet of "Arabian Perfumo Wonder", manufactured by the Arabian Perfumo Co. of Bridgeport, Connecticut and presumably owned by someone in the Temple family, ca. 1900. The paper packet is still unopened and contains the product. The cover, which has a blue floral border, has an image in a circular border at the center of a woman, identified as Parizada. An explanation on the reverse is that this woman visited London with the fragrant perfume sold in the package with her. At the top of the front in red and blue ink is the product name. Around the image are the words, in red ink, "Sweet Fragrant And Exquisite." Parizada'z name in blue ink is beneath her portrait with the phrase, in red ink, "The Arabian Perfume Beauty." The company name and location are at the bottom in blue and red ink. On the reverse are the recommended uses of the product above the history of Parizada. There is also a 1/4 cent proprietary stamp issued by the Internal Revenue Service on the reverse with a scene from the 1898 Spanish-American War, which is the basis for the estimated date. With some surface soiling, creases, and discoloration, the package is in fair condition.
