Description

PAGE FROM THE PUENTE CHAMBER OF COMMERCE BOOKLET, 1927 Color: Black; White A black and white photograph of a page in a Puente Chamber of Commerce booklet, 1927. The photograph features scenes, labeled one through six, of places in and around the town of Puente. Scene one is the Dibble family home originally built by John Rowland. The two-story brick home is on the top left with palm trees and rose bushes in the front yard. Below this is a smaller photo of the home as it was at the time it was inhabited by the Rowland family. Below is scene two, which pictures the Spanish Colonial Revival home of Charles S. Lewis with a small round pond in the front surrounded by a stone path which leads up to the house. The one-story home has two wings on the side, a raised courtyard, and red tile roof. On the top right is scene three which is a view of La Casa Nueva from the southeast. Only the entrance to the Mission Walkway, palm trees, and the east wing of the home can be seen. Scene four below this is the two-story Spanish home of Louis H. Didier. With arched windows and doorway, the home has iron balconies below three of the windows on the second floor to form a small balcony and a red tile roof. Scene five, on the bottom right, is the Puente Community Church, which has two double-doors in front, side wings with double windows, and a second floor which includes a four-sided tower. In the middle of the six images is a description of each building shown with, "Puente, Calif." across the top. With no signs of wear, the image is in good condition. Number-Units: 1
